A Rocking Good Time with My Girls and Kidz Bop 19

I broke a cardinal rule this weekend.   You see… I have 3 little girls… which means I have 3 beautiful kinky/curly heads of hair to moisturize and comb each week. And to make things easier on myself, I try not to wash all of their hair on the same weekend..I alternate by washing two heads one weekend and saving the other for the next weekend. If I have to wash and comb them all on the same weekend, trust me when I say it is an all day activity that leaves me feeling like I have just been through something at the end.

So I don’t know how I did it, but I looked up this weekend and realized that everyone’s hair needed to be washed.   As I started to wash their hair, I remembered that Lamar said we were sent a Kids Bop 19 CD to review on our site.   And when he told me about the CD, I actually said: “Yaaaaaaay.”   I love kids bop and I was planning to order #19 for our 8 year old daughter who is just now getting into music and listening to her mp3 player.

Kids Bop 19 has all of my (oops I mean our kids) favorite music which includes the biggest hits being played on the radio now.   And the thing I love the most about this CD is that I don’t have to worry that my kids are going to hear something inappropriate as they are listening.   I am constantly on alert when the radio is playing because I don’t know if the next song is going to be appropriate or if the radio DJs are going to say something crazy between songs.   With Kids Bop, my daughter can download the songs to her mp3 player, and I know that she is only listening to kid friendly music.

I have loved Kids Bop since they first started with #1 over 10 years ago.   Our son, who is now 17 years old, chuckled fondly as he recalled listening to kid’s bop when he was younger.   He said “I remember Kid’s Bob 1 mom and now they are on 19.”

So we had a rocking good time in the kitchen.     My girls and I sang and danced for hours and I washed and combed hair and we ate snacks and did crafts. And after I finished the last song, we really cranked up the music and begin to get down in that kitchen!!   It was so much fun. I served those girls with my moves i.e the wop and the cabbage patch.

Oh yeah…so why did I write this post? #1 -To tell you that we all loved Kids Bop 19 and our favorite songs were Firework, Dynamite, and Magic.   #2 – To tell you that if you have not had a rocking good time with your kids lately, then make sure you plan one soon. Crank up the radio, or your favorite CD, or songs from YouTube and dance until you are out of breath.   My girls and I have concerts all of the time and we love it and I am hoping they remember these moments when they are older. Scratch that, I am not hoping…I am purposely making sure that they will have fond memories from their childhood.

Ronnie, I love this. While I can’t quite stomach Kidz Bop (just a personal preference) I often crank up Bob Marley or Micheal Jackson and dance around the kitchen with my little one. He loves to show off his new moves and I love that he’s developing an appreciation for good music. Dance on!
