When was the last time you were vaccinated, or even went for a routine checkup? Many of us take our kids to get their yearly vaccines before school starts, but we often overlook our own routine care. Well, there’s no better time than the present. August is National Immunization Awareness Month, the perfect time for you, your family, friends, and coworkers to stay up-to-date on shots. In recognition of National Immunization Awareness Month, CVS/pharmacy’s Project Health is offering free health screening events focusing on vaccination reviews, vision acuity, glucose, blood pressure and BMI for individuals who have difficulty in accessing preventive care.

Many health conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes are treatable if caught early enough. Yet, many of us have friends and loved ones who didn’t catch these conditions until it was too late.

It doesn’t have to be this way. If you live in Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX, Detroit, MI, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, Miami, FL, New York, NY, Philadelphia, PA, or Washington, DC, visit a CVS near you to see about your free health screening. And don’t worry if you are uninsured. In fact, every Friday in August is Flu Voucher Friday, meaning you can come and get your flu shot voucher from your local CVS/Pharmacy.

WHY ARE ONLY A SELECT FEW STATES DOING THE FREE SCREENINGS AND FREE FLU SHOTS. TEXAS HAS ALOT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE OUT OF JOBS AS WELL AND HAVE NO COVRAGE. NOT ALL QUALIFY AT HEALTH DEPT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE STATES ADDED TO THIS LIST. IS THERE ANYTHING ON MY PART I CAN DO IN ORDER TO SEE THIS DONE?? PLEASE ADVISE AND THANKS IN ADVANCE.
